Formula 3 has confirmed a second pre-season event in April, which will be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
The series’ testing plans ahead of the 2021 season have been disrupted, with the opening two events which were originally scheduled for Jerez and Barcelona cancelled.
A travel ban on UK commuters amid the Covid-19 pandemic, enforced by the Spanish Health Ministry, meant the Hitech Grand Prix and Carlin teams, as well as any UK-based driver, could not enter the country.
The opening F3 pre-season test is currently scheduled to take place at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg on April 3 – 4.
A second date has now been added for running in Barcelona on April 21 – 22, as confirmed by F3.
The rescheduled Barcelona test will take place just over two weeks before the season is set to get underway at the same venue, supporting the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix weekend.
The 2021 F3 calendar features seven rounds, with three races taking place this year as part of a revised weekend format.
