Sliders: Compare the Alfa Romeo C39 and C41

Alfa Romeo took the covers off of its 2021 challenger, the C41, on Monday during a glamorous event in Poland, home of title sponsor ORLEN and third driver Robert Kubica.

The C41 features a flipped livery compared to its predecessor, with the lower half now red instead of the top, which is primarily white.

In terms of development, it’s difficult to make any comparisons on the side view, other than a more refined DRS set-up with a much slimmer swan neck. The engine cover has a small fin on the top and of course the floor now features a diagonal cut, as per the rules.

The front view makes it easier to see where Alfa Romeo has spent its two development tokens. Although the angle of the photos is different, which makes a direct comparison difficult, we’ve tried to line them up as accurately as possible without distorting the dimensions.

The C41 has a much slimmer nose and two tokens were spent on this area, which required a new frontal crash test. The front-wing has also undergone some major aerodynamic changes in terms of complexity.

The rear shows a more tightly packaged rear-end, although the overall layout remains unchanged.
