Formula 1 has revealed the start time for this year’s grands prix, with lights out reverting to on the hour, with the calendar featuring four night races.

Formula 1 races were shifted to 10 past the hour in 2018, with several also moved one hour later, but for 2021 they will revert to beginning atop the hour.

The majority of the Europe-based events are due to start at 15:00 local time.

Bahrain’s season-opening round will take place at twilight, as will the traditional season-ending Abu Dhabi round, while Saudi Arabia is due to be a night race.

The street-based event in Jeddah is scheduled to begin at 19:00 local time, almost 90 minutes after sunset, meaning it joins Singapore in taking place in darkness.

The release of the schedule also confirms that Friday’s practice sessions will be an hour in length, beginning at 11:30 and 15:00 respectively for most events.

As per tradition Monaco’s practice sessions will take place on Thursday.
