Formula E has confirmed its next six races following the decision to release its 2021 calendar in batches as a consequence of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The all-electric World Championship recently confirmed its seventh season would kick-off in Saudi Arabia with a double-header night race in Diriyah, February 26-27.

On Thursday it confirmed the next six races starting with the Rome EPrix on April 10. The series will then visit a new venue and a traditional circuit, rather than a city-based event as it makes a trip to Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo on April 24.

Formula E is well known to the circuit however, having held pre-season testing at the venue for the past three seasons. It will however use a new venue designed exclusively for the series.

The series will return to Monaco after cancelling its 2020 event, before visiting Marrakesh. Rounds seven and eight will take place in Chile with a Santiago double-header in June.

The championship confirmed the Paris EPrix would not be taking place, but they hope to include it in the season eight calendar.

Formula E’s races in Seoul and Sanya will not take place in May as originally envisaged. They have been postponed and a decision on these events will be confirmed with the remainder of the calendar in early spring.

“We are committed to delivering a global calendar that befits our first season as a World Championship,” commented Jamie Reigle, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E.

“We are working closely with all our partners across teams, manufacturers, sponsors, broadcasters and host cities to adapt to external circumstances and ensure the health and safety of everyone involved.

“We will do so while maintaining what fans love most about Formula E: unpredictable racing, iconic locations and the blend of the real and virtual worlds, all underpinned by our race for better futures.”
