Renault has announced it will host another private test next week in Abu Dhabi, with Fernando Alonso and junior driver Guanyu Zhou attending the three-day event.

Both drivers will get behind the wheel of the R.S.18 at the Yas Marina Circuit, which will host the 2020 Formula 1 season finale next month.

Alonso and Zhou both drove the 2018 Renault car as recently as last week, with Alonso taking part in a two-day test at Bahrain ahead of his comeback to F1 in 2021.

The two-time World Champion completed 186 laps across the two days, while Zhou concluded a young drivers’ test for Renault, which was also attended by fellow juniors Christian Lundgaard and Oscar Piastri.

For the upcoming test, Alonso will drive the car on November 15 and 16 before Zhou brings the event to a close with an outing on November 17.

Renault is currently battling for third in the Constructors’ Championship, sitting one point ahead of both McLaren and Racing Point.

Its recent strong form has seen Daniel Ricciardo take to the podium twice in the last three races – Renault’s only top three finishes since it returned as a manufacturer in 2016.

In 2021, the team will be rebranded to Alpine F1, with Alonso joining Esteban Ocon at the French outfit on a two-year deal.
