The #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid has lost the lead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with just under half of the race left to run due to a turbocharger issue.
Kamui Kobayashi had a comfortable lead to the #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid of Brendon Hartley until the car reported to the pit lane and was pushed back into the garage with a reported turbocharger issue.
This has promoted Hartley, Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi into the lead, with the #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson of Bruno Senna, Gustavo Menezes and Norman Nato into second place, with the #3 Rebellion of Romain Dumas, Nat Berthon and Louis Deletraz taking third place overall as well.
After nearly 30 minutes in the garage, Kobayashi drove the #7 back out on track in fourth place overall and seven laps behind the other Toyota.
The #7 had led the race from pole position, with Mike Conway having been briefly challenged by Senna before building up a lead and keeping it for the first half of the race.
