DTM returned to action on Monday as part of a four-day pre-season test ahead of the start of its delayed 2020 season.
Both Audi and BMW were present for the test at the Nurburgring, with a total of six cars – three for each – in action.
Audi had Rene Rast, Mike Rockenfeller and Robin Frijns in action, whilst BMW had Philipp Eng, Jonathan Aberdein and Timo Glock.
The test is also being used to trial DTM’s new safety protocols in light of the coronavirus pandemic and personnel will undergo testing every two days.
“We’re extremely grateful to everybody at the circuit – they have put the infrastructure in place to allow us to test safely with all the relevant distancing rules,” commented ITR Managing Director Marcel Mohaupt.
The DTM season is set to resume on August 1 at Spa-Francorchamps.
