Jamie Chadwick topped both practice sessions for the season-opening Hockeheim race weekend for the new W Series, which will see its first qualifying session and race take place on Saturday.
The all-female series will run for six rounds during its inaugural season in support of the German Touring Car series, DTM.
The opening session saw Britain's Chadwick post a 1:39.650 to go more than six-tenths clear of second-placed Finn Emma Kimilainen.
FP1 was briefly halted by a red flag after 25 minutes of running and the majority of quick laps came in the closing stages of the 45-minute session.
Chadwick then went on top in the afternoon session by more than seven-tenths, with Kimilainen in second again. The times however were much slower as the session saw consistent rain showers.
The leading duo traded fastest times before Chadwick eventually moved clear.
Third place went to Fabienne Wohlwend despite a late spin just minutes before the chequered flag was shown – with the top three the same in FP1.
Beitske Visser was fourth ahead of British racers Alice Powell and Sarah Moore in fifth and sixth respectively.
The running was interrupted twice by red flags, courtesy of spins for Tasmin Pepper and Jessica Hawkins.
Marta Garcia, Vicky Piria, Caitlin Wood and Miki Koyama completed the top 10, which was covered by 2.8 seconds.
