HWA RACELAB has announced Bent Viscaal will race for the team in FIA Formula 3 this year.
FIA Formula 3 has replaced the GP3 Series on Formula 1’s support package, with the Mercedes-affiliated HWA RACELAB one of 10 teams accepted onto the grid.
Viscaal steps up to Formula 3 off the back of placing second in last year’s EuroFormula Open championship.
Viscaal joins Keyvan Andres at HWA RACELAB, with the operation’s third driver to be announced shortly.
“The level of success that HWA enjoyed in the DTM is very impressive,” said Viscaal.
“As such, I am delighted to be part of the new Formula 3 team at HWA RACELAB.
“The first few days with the team have been very positive and you can feel that there is a good spirit.
“For me, this season is all about learning as much as possible.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of the new Formula 3 series. They are going to be exciting, high-quality races. The car has more horsepower than I am used to, but I will soon get used to that."
