Alfa Romeo Racing’s 2019 Formula 1 car has broken cover during a shakedown at Ferrari’s Fiorano test track.

New recruit Kimi Raikkonen put the as-yet-unnamed car through its paces at the Italian testing venue on Thursday, ahead of its official launch on Monday.

The car ran in a special 'love' livery, according to Alfa Romeo, in order to mark Valentine's Day.

Raikkonen has joined Alfa Romeo after spending the last five years with Ferrari.

Alfa Romeo has taken over the entry and chassis name from Sauber, stepping up its involvement after joining as title partner for 2018.

Raikkonen will line up alongside full-time rookie Antonio Giovinazzi, who previously competed in two Grands Prix for Sauber in 2017.

The official unveiling of Alfa Romeo’s 2019 Formula 1 car will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Monday morning.

It means Alfa Romeo has become the fourth team to run its new car on track, after Mercedes, Red Bull and Toro Rosso all ran on Wednesday.

Renault is likely to abandon its planned shakedown due to time constraints while Williams has already cancelled its planned filming day.

Each team is permitted two filming days per season, in which running is limited to 100km and must be carried out on Pirelli's promotional tyres.
