Jose Maria Lopez led the way in final practice ahead of qualifying for the Santiago E-Prix, setting the fastest time in the 30-minute session for GEOX Dragon.

Lopez, who has not yet recorded a points finish so far this season, set a best time of a 1m 08.194s, beating Lucas di Grassi's previous lap record at the Parque O'Higgins Circuit that was set during free practice one.

Envision Virgin Racing's Robin Frijns was Lopez's nearest challenger, with the Dutchman trailing the Argentinian driver by a slim margin of only 0.066s while Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler's di Grassi was a further 0.039s adrift to complete the top three.

Sam Bird was fourth fastest in the second Audi-powered Envision Virgin car, 0.147s off the pace while Pascal Wehrlein completed the top five for Mahindra Racing.

Alexander Sims emerged as the lead BMW i Andretti Motorsport driver, setting the eighth fastest time while team-mate Antonio Felix da Costa completed the top 10, the pair being split by Oliver Rowland who was ninth fastest for Nissan e.dams.

Germany's Daniel Abt ended the session as the 11th fastest and slowest Audi driver and was followed by Oliver Turvey and Jean-Eric Vergne who fronted a 13-14 result for DS Techeetah, with Andre Lotterer following the Frenchman.

After crashing in FP1, Sebastien Buemi was able to make an appearance in second practice with the damage to his Nissan IM01 car being repaired, ending the session with the 15th fastest time.

Felipe Massa followed Buemi in 16th as the fastest Venturi-powered driver while inaugural Formula E champion Nelson Piquet Jr was 17th, 0.727s slower than Lopez's session-topping lap.

HWA Racelab's Stoffel Vandoorne, who had a close call with the barriers in the session after locking up into Turn 1,  was 18th and was followed by Maximilian Gunther, Tom Dillmann, team-mate Gary Paffett and Edoardo Mortara who completed the field in 22nd.
