Jaguar Racing has confirmed that Pietro Fittipaldi and Harry Tincknell will form the team's driver lineup for Formula E's Marrakesh rookie test later this month.
While neither Fittipaldi or Tincknell have made their competitive debut in Formula E, both drivers have experience behind the wheel of one of the all-electric single-seater cars, with both taking part in the 2018 edition of the same event using the series' first generation machinery.
In 2018, Fittipaldi impressed as one half of Jaguar's lineup for the one-day event before breaking his legs in a crash in qualifying for the 6 Hours of Spa, relegating him as an onlooker for most of last year before later becoming Haas F1's test driver.
"I am excited to drive the Gen2 Formula E car, which will be a big step up with more power and more grip," said Fittipaldi, grandson of two-time Formula 1 champion Emerson.
"I am looking forward to seeing how it feels on track. I've heard many good things about the Jaguar I-Type 3.
"I am there to help the team develop the car as much as we can throughout the test day – so I am looking forward to it."
For the Ford-backed WEC regular Tincknell, the test marks his first time back behind the wheel of a Formula E car in one year after previously testing for NIO to secure a simulator role with the team.
Prior to his NIO test, Tincknell was one of four drivers under consideration to drive for Jaguar in the team's maiden season in Formula E, missing out on a full-time driving opportunity with the British marque opting to hire the services of Mitch Evans and Adam Carroll.
"Jaguar gave me my first laps in a Formula E car and I'm very grateful to be testing the new Gen2 car with them," he said.
"It is a great opportunity for me and I hope to use my previous Formula E experience to do the best job possible.
"With in-season testing being limited, I really want to maximise the day for the team and contribute to the development of the Jaguar I-Type 3 after its strong double points finish to start season five with Mitch and Nelson."
The Marrakesh rookie test will take place on January 13, one day after the Marrakesh E-Prix which marks the second race of the 2018/19 season.
