After making her Formula E test debut at last month's Ad Diryah in-season test, Jamie Chadwick will return to NIO for the Marrakesh in-season rookie test later this month.
The post-Ad Diriyah E-Prix in-season test marked Chadwick's debut behind the wheel of all-electric machinery, with the 20-year-old racer performing testing duties in NIO's Season Five 004 challenger, driving alongside full-time drivers Oliver Turvey and Tom Dillmann.
In her maiden test, Chadwick's running was disrupted by a series of technical issues meaning that the had limited running through the day.
“After a somewhat reduced test event program in Saudi Arabia due to a technical issue beyond our control, I am obviously very pleased to extend the opportunity for Jamie to test with us once again,” said NIO Formula E Team Principal Gerry Hughes.
“This is obviously a case of ‘same car, different testing environment’ but one that I know she will relish and it will be very interesting to witness her progress during the day.”
“I loved every minute of the first test in Riyadh and now I am acclimatized to the car, I am confident that we can have a successful test,” added Chadwick, thrilled to get a second opportunity with the Oxfordshire-based squad.
“Once again, a huge thank you to Gerry and the team for giving me the opportunity. I cannot wait.”
The Marrakesh rookie test will mark the second of three scheduled in-season test sessions over the course of the 2018/19 campaign, taking place on January 13 following the Marrakesh E-Prix.
