Following the cancellation of free practice one and the delay of practice two due to poor weather conditions, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship has confirmed that the format of qualifying has changed, being broken up into two groups.
As opposed to being divided into four groups of six runners as originally intended, qualifying will be broken up into two groups of 11 runners, providing a more time-effective and equal platform to determine the starting order for the Ad Diriyah E-Prix.
The first group of runners, Group A, will feature reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne, Lucas di Grassi, Sam Bird, Sebastien Buemi, Daniel Abt, Edoardo Mortara Jerome d'Ambrosio, Antonio Felix da Costa, Jose Maria Lopez, Tom Dillmann and Robin Frijns.
In Group B, Felix Rosenqvist, Mitch Evans, Andre Lotterer, Nelson Piquet Jr, Oliver Turvey, Stoffel Vandoorne, Maximilian Gunther, Gary Paffett, Felipe Massa, Oliver Rowland and Alexander Sims will make up the runners.
Qualifying will take place at 11:25 local time as opposed to the originally intended 10:50 slot with the Super Pole shootout not taking place.
