Formula 1 motorsports director Ross Brawn says the sport is doing everything it can to ensure the survival of the Force India team, following the appointment of administrators last week.
The team fell into administration after driver Sergio Perez, backed by Mercedes and sponsor BWT, took legal action over unpaid debts. Perez claims he took action in the best interests of the team, believing it was on the brink of collapse due to Vijay Mallya's refusal to sell up despite having several credible offers.
Administrators FRP Advisory are now working to find a new buyer which it hopes will secure the future of the team and Brawn says F1 will assist in any way it can.
"The end of the Hungarian Grand Prix signalled the start of the summer break. More than ever, this break is much needed after a really busy first part of the season, especially this summer in which we have just staged five grands prix in six weeks," he said.
"This applies especially to those who work at Force India, which is going through a particularly difficult time at the moment.
"Formula 1 will be doing all in its power to ensure the team survives and I truly hope that in the coming days and weeks its future is resolved," he added.
"Over the past few years the Silverstone-based team has been an amazing example of what can be done with limited resources, showing that what you do and how you do it is much more important than the size of your budget."
