Anthoine Hubert fronted a podium lockout for ART Grand Prix with a dominant lights to flag victory at Silverstone, retaking the lead of the Drivers' Championship from team-mate Callum Ilott.
Hubert, a member of Renault's driver academy, secured pole position on Friday to narrow the gap at the top of the standings to Ilott, taking an additional four points for securing the top spot on the grid.
When the lights went out, Hubert led into Turn 1, holding off Nikita Mazepin in second place while Ilott was third.
Proceedings were quickly halted after the deployment of a Virtual Safety Car (VSC) on lap 1 following contact in Turn 1 between Juan Manuel Correa and Julien Falchero, the pair crashing out of the race early on.
No sooner had the green flag waved, Silverstone was once again flooded with yellow flags and a subsequent VSC, this time for an accident between Gabriel Aubry and Jenzer's Tatiana Calderon, with the Frenchman spinning the Columbian racer on the exit of Luffield and coming to a halt in Woodcote corner.
Calderon stopped one lap later at the end of the Hangar Straight, causing a full safety car to be deployed.
When the race was finally resumed on lap 6, Hubert maintained his lead over Mazepin, setting the fastest lap of the race on lap 9 to break DRS range on his team-mate.
Untouchable, Hubert took the chequered flag on lap 20 to claim a second career GP3 victory, beating Mazepin by 3.903s while Ilott finished in third as the final part of an ART Grand Prix podium.
Missing out on a top-three finish was Trident's Ryan Tveter, who finished in a career-best fourth place finish.
Dorian Boccolacci finished in fifth place for MP Motorsport after overtaking sixth-place finisher Leonardo Pulcini on lap 16 while Pedro Piquet finished in seventh place in the second Trident, making contact with Pulchini on the penultimate lap of the race, damaging his front wing as a result.
After starting in fourth place, Giuliano Alesi struggled behind the wheel of his Trident to finish in eighth place meaning that the Frenchman has secured pole position for Sunday's reverse grid race.
Joey Mawson was ninth, dropping from eighth in the dying stages of the race. Alessio Lorandi completed the top 10.
GP3's Saturday feature saw five drivers fail to see the chequered flag, with Briton Jake Huges breaking down on lap 13 while running inside the top 10. The ART driver was accompanied by Calderon, Aubry, Falchero and Correa in retirement.
