Pramac Racing has confirmed Jack Miller has re-signed directly with Ducati to remain with the customer outfit for the 2019 season on factory machinery.
Miller stepped over to the Pramac squad this season after three years directly contracted to Honda, riding for the LCR and Marc VDS teams.
The Australian has enjoyed a strong 2018 campaign aboard the year-old GP17, securing top 10 finishes in all bar the Italian Grand Prix, where he crashed, and a pole position in Argentina.
Linked to moves to Repsol Honda and the factory Ducati squad for next year, team-mate Danilo Petrucci's promotion to join Andrea Dovizioso next year all but confirmed Miller's continued stay with Pramac aboard a GP19.
A team statement read: “Alma Pramac Racing is pleased to announce that Jack Miller has been confirmed for the 2019 MotoGP season.
“The Australian rider, who is directly under contract with Ducati, will defend the colours of the Tuscany-based team on the 2019 version of the Ducati Desmosedici GP.”
Miller will be joined by current Moto2 championship leader Francesco Bagnaia at Pramac next year, who penned a two-year deal directly with Ducati in January.
Only the second seat at Avintia, both Nieto bikes and the future of the Marc VDS team is to be decided, with all factory seats secured.
As the Marc VDS team battles internal troubles, rumours of a Petronas-backed satellite Yamaha team taking over the Beglian outfit's slots on the grid have gathered momentum.
Outgoing factory Honda rider Dani Pedrosa has been strongly linked to one of those satellite YZR-M1s, while current Marc VDS man Franco Morbidelli looks set to join him.
Miller has qualified 13th for Sunday's Catalan Grand Prix, while team-mate Danilo Petrucci will launch from sixth on the grid. Ducati stablemate Jorge Lorenzo is on pole.
