Following a stunning second victory of Season Four for Sam Bird at the inaugural Rome ePrix, DS Virgin Racing is looking to continue its winning ways at this weekend's Paris ePrix.

At the seventh round of the 2017/18 season, Bird stormed across the line in first place in what was a thrilling battle for the win in the Eternal City, holding off reigning Formula E champion Lucas di Grassi to claim 25 points for himself and his team.

By achieving such a feat, with the victory marking the seventh of his Formula E career, Bird has placed himself in second place on the list of all-time winners in the all-electric championship while reigniting his hopes for a potential title this season, sitting 18 points behind Techeetah's Jean-Eric Vergne who currently leads the Drivers' Championship.

“To be heading into the Paris race on the back of a win is a great feeling and the whole team is looking forward to the event," said Bird, looking to continue his current form.

"It’s a challenging track but we know we have a quick, reliable car so if we can hook everything up, there’s no reason why we can’t come away with another strong result.”

While Bird excelled in Rome, his team-mate and British compatriot Alex Lynn struggled across the weekend, crashing out in first and second practice, having a poor qualifying result and ultimately retiring from the race after a scrappy first stint.

“We didn’t have the weekend we wanted last time out but for sure I’m looking forward to the Paris race," said Lynn.

"It will be another new circuit for me but preparations have been going well in the simulator and I know we can come out fighting for strong results.”

DS Virgin Racing's Team Principal Alex Tai highlighted that the Paris weekend will be of key importance for the squad and as such, is looking for a strong result:

“Paris is set to be a huge event for the team both on and off the track," he said.

"As well as being the home race for our manufacturing partner DS Automobiles, we will also have Sir Richard Branson in attendance, be hosting an influential Innovation Summit, in addition to making a number of exciting new announcements.

"Following our victory last time out, everyone in the team is in high spirits and we’re looking forward to maintaining this as we once again fight for the win,” he added.

With five races remaining, DS Virgin Racing sit in second in the Teams' Championship, recently overtaking Mahindra Racing in the standings last time out in Rome. This leaves the British marque 34 points adrift of leaders Techeetah.

The Paris ePrix will take place on April 28.
