Jake Hughes will return to GP3 with ART Grand Prix in 2018, the French team has confirmed.
Hughes competed for DAMS in the series in 2016, taking two reversed-grid wins en route to eighth overall in the standings, before switching to F3 for 2017.
Hughes finished fifth for Hitech and will now return to GP3, joining Ferrari-backed Callum Ilott and 2017 F3 team-mate Nikita Mazepin at ART.
“I’m very proud and excited to be joining a team as successful as ART Grand Prix for a crack at GP3,” said the 23-year-old.
“The team’s performances in the series over the last few years especially, have been extremely impressive.
“So, when the opportunity came about to be able to be jump in one of their cars for 2018 it was impossible to say no.
“I tested for three days with everyone in Abu Dhabi and felt immediately confident in and out of the car.
“The aim is clear when racing for a team like ART, so I cannot wait to get down to the workshop and get going.”
ART has supplied the last three champions in GP3: Esteban Ocon (2015), Charles Leclerc (2016) and George Russell (2017).
