DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird finished Sunday’s practice session for the second New York ePrix at the top of the timesheets.
Bird won Saturday’s first race and put in the best time of 1:02.209 during a disrupted session, which featured several red flags.
The session was stopped due to Tom Dillmann making contact with the wall and stopping on track, before a crash for Robin Frijns also brought out the red flag.
The first New York ePrix’s runner-up Jean-Eric Vergne was second, ahead of Venturi’s Maro Engel and the NextEV NIO car of Oliver Turvey.
Due to the interuptions, several drivers failed to put in 200kW laps. Nelson Piquet Jr. was fifth fastest, with Dillmann finishing sixth.
Alex Lynn, on his debut for DS Virgin, kept up his impressive pace in seventh. Title contender Lucas di Grassi was eighth.
Jerome d’Ambrosio and Nick Heidfeld completed the top 10, with race one podium finisher Stephane Sarrazin 12th.
Pierre Gasly, also competing in his first Formula E weekend, was 18th fastest after his points finish in race one. His Renault e.dams team-mate Nicolas Prost was down in 20th.
