Mercedes F1 junior George Russell beat ART team-mate Anthoine Hubert to claim victory in the first GP3 race at Silverstone.
The Brit started on pole but a poor start dropped him behind Hubert, before he found his way back into the lead in the early laps.
However, Hubert kept Russell in his sights, and was rarely more than one second behind his team-mate throughout the race.
Russell kept his cool, though, to cross the line and win his second race of the 2017 GP3 season, extending his newly-recaptured lead in the drivers’ standings.
Hubert was second, with Alessio Lorandi making a move on Niko Kari mid-way through to take the final podium position for Jenzer.
Jack Aitken had a strong start from fifth and held third early on, but dropped down the order – appearing to struggle more than his fellow ART drivers. However, a late charge meant he snatched fourth.
Dorian Boccolacci made contact with Kari on the penultimate lap and then fell behind Aitken, having to settle for fifth, ahead of Kari.
Arjun Maini and Giuliano Alesi – who was one of the quickest drivers on track in the second part of the race – were next up.
Kevin Joerg and Julien Falchero were a distant ninth and 10th respectively, while ART’s fourth driver Nirei Fukuzumi suffered an early retirement.
