London will play host to the first ever F1 Live event on Wednesday, which will see all ten teams come together to promote the sport for the first time ever outside of a race weekend.
The city centre event will celebrate Britain's relationship with Formula 1, past, present and future, with various activities taking place across Wednesday afternoon and evening in Trafalgar Square.
The event has been months in the planning, but has been kept quiet in order to minimise disruption and to ensure security remains tight, with hundreds of thousands of fans expected to be in attendance.
Amongst the activites will be the main event, a live show starting at 17.30 BST. It will allow fans to "get closer to Formula 1 than ever before, with opportunities to see the drivers and their cars live in the heart of London," which will then be followed by concerts featuring "chart-topping musical acts".
Earlier in the day, local schools have been invited to take part in an education and innovation showcase, "where children of all ages will be given a fantastic opportunity to learn from those working in F1".
The event is set to be broadcast across Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports 1 in the UK, with Formula 1 live streaming the event on YouTube.
Sean Bratches, managing director, commercial operations at Formula 1 said of the event: "F1 Live London is the most striking example yet of Formula 1’s evolution this year. We feel there is no better way to celebrate the exciting season we have had so far than to have this landmark event in London on the eve of the British Grand Prix. This is all about giving our fans the opportunity to get closer to the teams, cars and drivers they love.”
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, added: "F1 Live London is a brilliant opportunity to show young people in our city that learning about science and engineering can provide them with fantastic careers, and can be great fun. It will also bring fans of all ages and backgrounds together to celebrate a sport they are passionate about and in which Britain is a world leader."
