McLaren protégé Lando Norris recovered from a tardy opening sequence of laps to register victory in the second European Formula 3 race of the weekend at the Norisring.
Norris dropped to fifth place early on but quickly overhauled Pedro Piquet, before closing the gap to the battling Jake Hughes and Maximilian Gunther, as pole man Ralf Aron opened a lead.
Norris worked his way through Gunther and soon moved past Hughes, as he set about hunting down long-time leader Aron, who had increased his advantage up front to 1.6 seconds.
The Briton closed the gap and the pair battled for the lead with three minutes remaining; Norris emerged on top with a move into the final hairpin and surged clear thereafter.
Aron slipped to fifth during the closing stages with front wing damage, elevating Hitech team-mate Hughes into second, with championship leader Gunther third.
Force India-backed youngster Jehan Daruvala also cleared Aron to take fourth, while Piquet held off Harrison Newey to finish sixth.
Prema pair Guan Yu Zhou and Callum Ilott collected eighth and ninth as Joel Eriksson lost further ground in the title race by finishing a low-key 10th.
