Mahindra's 2017/18 season four Formula E car will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend with driver Nick Heidfeld behind the wheel.
The Indian-owned outfit has made good progress on the development side with its M4Electro, having tested it privately already, but weren't due to publicly unveil it until the end of the current season.
But Mahindra team principal Dilbagh Gill says the team "couldn’t think of a better way" to unveil it than to try and set a new open-wheel electric-speed record on the Goodwood Hillclimb.
"We’re excited to bring Nick and the M4Electro to Goodwood in a bid to set the fastest open-wheel electric record on the hillclimb," said Gill.
“We are always looking to push the boundaries as a team and we couldn’t think of a better way to introduce the season four challenger to fans and automotive enthusiasts alike than at the Goodwood Festival of Speed."
Heidfeld currently holds the overall hillclimb record with a lap of 41.6 seconds in McLaren MP4/13.
