Renault test driver Sergey Sirotkin will compete for ART Grand Prix in this weekend’s F2 Baku round, with regular racer Alexander Albon injured.
Albon sustained a broken collarbone when he fell from his bike while training, and has been ruled out of action for the category’s upcoming visit to Azerbaijan’s capital.
Sirotkin, who has increased his role with the Renault squad this season, competed in the championship in 2015 and 2016, under its GP2 guise.
The Russian finished third in the standings while competing for ART last season, finishing third to Prema pair Pierre Gasly and Antonio Giovinazzi.
Albon, who graduated to F2 after placing second in GP3 last year, holds sixth position in the standings, having taken points at each race.
