Dorian Boccolacci and Ryan Tveter have been confirmed as the final two drivers in Trident’s GP3 line-up for the 2017 season.
They both join the previously-announced Giuliano Alesi and Kevin Jörg at the Italian GP3 squad.
French driver Boccolacci set the pace on two days of pre-season GP3 testing with Trident and has only now signed a deal with the team.
The 18-year-old finished runner-up in French F4 in 2014, before a season in European Formula 3. Last year he finished second and third in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and NEC championships.
“I am extremely proud to have been chosen by Trident for the new GP3 season,” Boccolacci said.
“It is a new and challenging series for me considering the high level of the competition. I feel very confident after all the work done together with the team’s technical staff.
“They enabled me to perform at the very best during pre-season testing. We expect a tight battle this season and we have a lot of work in front of us. I am ready and excited like never before.”
American racer Tveter has spent the last two seasons racing in European Formula 3, with a best finish of 17th in the standings.
“It's a fantastic opportunity to be racing with Trident for the 2017 GP3 season, and I'm especially proud and grateful to be joining the KFC and Pertamina supported squads alongside Giuliano in GP3 and Sean [Gelael] and Norman [Nato] in Formula 2,” Tveter explained.
“The chemistry with Trident has been great from the start and we’ve worked really well together since my first GP3 test in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season last year.”
