World Endurance Championship LMP2 outfit Rebellion Racing has unveiled its new livery for the 2017 season, inspired by French comic book hero Michel Vaillant.
In a presentation at Le Club de V in Brussels, the Rebellion team showcased its red, white and blue scheme to mark the 60th birthday of the racing driver character created by Jean Graton.
The new livery will adorn both Rebellion-run ORECA-07 Gibsons, taking the Vaillante brand back to Le Mans for its first apperance at the 24-hour classic since 1997.
Nicolas Prost, Bruno Senna and Julien Canal will pilot the #31 Vaillante Rebellion ORECA, whilst Nelson Piquet Jr, Mathias Beche and David Heinemeier Hansson are set to share the sister #13 entry.
In the build-up to the big race, Graton will publish a special "Rebellion" edition of the Vaillante comics on June 2nd.
The team will also display a Rebellion R-One LMP1 show car in the new colours at next weekend's 6 Hours of Spa.
Rebellion sported a white and red livery at the opening round of the WEC last month (bottom) with its cars finishing second and ninth in class.
