Nirei Fukuzumi and Dorian Boccolacci topped the timesheets in Barcelona at the second two-day pre-season GP3 test.
ART racer Fukuzumi set the pace on the opening day of running, setting his best time within the first hour of the afternoon session.
His fastest lap of 1:33.685 proved to be four tenths quicker than his team-mate Anthoine Hubert’s best effort, with Arjun Maini – who was quickest in the wet-to-dry morning session – third for Jenzer.
Mercedes F1 junior George Russell was fourth, with Alessio Lorandi next up in the second Jenzer car. Giuliano Alesi and Kevin Jörg were sixth and seventh.
ART’s Jack Aitken was eighth, while Italian F4 champion Marcos Siebert and DAMS driver Danino Ferrucci completed the top 10.
The morning session was quiet due to the damp conditions, with three red flags for cars stopped on the circuit interrupting the afternoon.
The second and final day of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya test was also disrupted by red flags, one in the morning and two in the afternoon.
Boccolacci, who has yet to sign for a team in GP3 this year, put in a 1:32.896 in the morning session to go quickest for Trident and edged Fukuzumi by just 0.012 seconds.
Dry weather meant many teams focused on qualifying in the morning before switching focus to race runs in the afternoon.
Fukuzumi’s ART team-mates Aitken and Russel were third and fourth, with Red Bull junior Niko Kari in fifth. Campos driver Raoul Hyman and Jörg were next up.
Siebert, Ferrucci and Maini completed the top 10 on the final day of the test. The third pre-season GP3 test will take place from the 25-26 April at Valencia.
