Luca Filippi will return to Dale Coyne Racing for this weekend's IndyCar Series round in Toronto.
Filippi, 30, raced for Dale Coyne Racing in the no. 19 car at the first four rounds of the season, recording a best finish of 17th at Long Beach.
The Italian driver was replaced for the month of May at Indianapolis by Gabby Chaves, whose stint extended until last weekend's race at Iowa Speedway.
Filippi will now return for Dale Coyne Racing in Toronto, where he finished second for CFH Racing in 2015, his best IndyCar result to date.
"I'm very excited to be back with Dale Coyne Racing this weekend and to have the chance to race in the Honda Indy Toronto again," Filippi said.
"I want to thank IMPCO Technologies, the ComfortPro team and Dale Coyne for giving me this opportunity. It's one of my favorite races, not just because I finished on the podium in Toronto last year, but because it's one of the best events on the schedule and I love to race on street circuits. I can't wait to get back on track."
Filippi will race alongside Conor Daly, who is locked in for the full season at Dale Coyne Racing.
