Ford has confirmed that Harry Tincknell will remain with the Chip Ganassi Racing team for the remainder of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
Initially it was announced that the British driver would partner Marino Franchitti and Andy Priaulx at the No.67 Ford GT car for the first three races of the year.
However, he has secured a deal to remain with the team for the remaining six rounds of the FIA WEC season.
The No.67 car finished second in GTE-Pro at Spa earlier this year in the FIA WEC but suffered a difficult 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Tincknell, who is still under contract with Nissan, will also continue to race in the European Le Mans Series with G-Drive Racing.
“Since I moved across from single-seaters to endurance racing in 2014, it’s always been my ambition to compete full time in the WEC,” he said.
“Additionally, it’s incredible that my first full WEC season will have been with the factory Ford team.
“I’m already looking forward to getting back onto the GTE-Pro podium after what was a historic Le Mans victory for Ford but a tough 24 Hour race for our No. 67 Ford GT.”
