Robin Frijns will make his IndyCar debut with the Andretti Autosport team at this month’s Mid-Ohio test.
The Dutch driver has been racing in the 2015/2016 Formula E season with the MS Amlin Andretti team.
He finished 12th in the standings after some feisty drives, scoring one podium and six further top 10 results.
Andretti has now announced Frijns will get his first taste of IndyCar machineryat the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The rookie test day takes place on July 21 at Mid-Ohio and will also feature Indy Lights drivers.
On the Thursday prior to the London ePrix season two finale it was announced that Frijns will remain with Andretti for season three of Formula E.
It will be his second full season in the all-electric championship, having made his debut at last year's Beijing ePrix.
