Lewis Hamilton says he and team-mate Nico Rosberg spoke to one another on Wednesday and insists there is no tension between them following the Spanish Grand Prix crash which took them both out of the race.
The last time the pair collided was at the 2014 Belgian GP and the fallout following the event was colossal, with the pair refusing to talk to one another, leading to Mercedes management stepping in.
However after Spain, whilst the pair were visibly upset, the fallout was nothing like that of two years previous and Hamilton reckons that's because they've both matured since then.
"I think it's shown the growth within Nico and I, we stood and spoke to each other today," he said ahead of the Monaco GP.
"In the past there would have been some kind of tension of some sort but it was just pure respect," he added.
"'I still have all the respect for you' and he said the same [to me], so let's keep racing, it doesn't change the way we approach our racing, maybe we're just getting old! We're good at our jobs and we know it."
Meanwhile Rosberg admitted to starting the race in the wrong setting, which ultimately led to the collision as he was far slower than he should have been at Turn 3, which gave Hamilton a chance to attack.
"It was in the wrong position, and it was my job to put in the right position – it's pretty simple," added Rosberg. "There is not much more to say."
