Pirelli has confirmed the tyre compounds it has nominated for the F1 2016 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
For European races, the 2016 regulations state Pirelli must announce the three compounds eight weeks in advance, compared to 14 weeks for fly-away events.
The orange-marked hard, white-marked medium and yellow-marked soft tyres will be brought to Silverstone for the British GP, which takes place from the 7-10 July.
One set of the hard tyre and one set of mediums have been allocated for the race, while a set of the soft tyre has been reserved for Q3.
At least one of the compounds set aside for the race must be used. It’s only the second time so far this year that the hard tyre has been nominated.
Drivers and teams are then free to select the remaining 10 compounds taken to the 10th round of the 2016 F1 season.
