Oliver Turvey will be available to contest the next round of the Formula E championship in Berlin, after an earthquake delayed the Autopolis round of the Super GT series, which Turvey had been due to compete in.
The Briton was set to be replaced by Ben Hanley as Turvey's Honda commitments clashed with the Berlin ePrix.
However following a serious earthquake near Kyushu island, not far from the Autopolis track, the Super GT round has had to be postponed until further notice.
Turvey will therefore be available to compete for the NEXTEV TCR team alongside team-mate and reigning champion Nelson Piquet.
"We are pleased that Oliver is able to compete in Berlin, we just wish it wasn't under such circumstances," said NEXTEV president Martin Leach.
"Everyone at the team was shocked to hear about the earthquakes and we are thinking about those living on Kyushu.
"I would also like to say thank you to Ben Hanley for his understanding and wish him well in his racing in the European Le Mans Series this season."
