ABT Schaeffler Audi driver Lucas Di Grassi extended his Formula E championship lead over Sebastien Buemi to 11 points on Saturday with victory in the inaugural Paris ePrix.
The Brazilian came through from second on the grid to snatch the lead at Turn 1 as pole sitter Sam Bird slipped back, eventually finishing sixth.
Jean-Eric Vergne secured his best result for DS Virgin Racing with second, finishing ahead of Di Grassi's nearest title rival Sebastien Buemi who fought through the field to complete the podium positions.
Nicolas Prost was fourth following a relatively uneventful race, much of it spent defending from the Venturi of Stephane Sarrazin, who finished fifth from Bird.
In the closing laps it looked as though Vergne and Di Grassi would battle it out for victory, but a late Safety Car period after Ma Qing Hua ended up in the wall neutralised the race. It finished behind the Safety Car, handing Di Grassi a comfortable victory.
Other incidents included Simona de Silvestro contacting the wall at Turn 1 which compromised her race, eventually finishing P15, whilst reigning champion Nelson Piquet suffered a problem with his NextEV TCR car and failed to finish the race.
