The Termas de Rio Hondo circuit has extended its contract to host the MotoGP Argentinian Grand Prix by a further three years.
An agreement was reached with the series just prior to this year’s 2016 race at the track, which was won by Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez.
The circuit first hosted the Argentinian round of MotoGP in 2014 and has proved to be a popular venue on the calendar ever since. The new deal means the series will return to the Termas de Rio Hondo until at least 2019.
Dorna Sports, the local government and the promoter OSD reached an agreement to extend the contract of the track.
"We are very pleased to reach this agreement with Termas de Rio Hondo and all the parties involved," said CEO of Dorna Sports, Carmelo Ezpeleta.
"It has been a good project so far with everyone involved helping to create a great circuit, and atmosphere for racing.
"South America has a very big passion for motorsport and we’re proud to continue bringing MotoGP to Argentina for three more years."
