Nicolo Bulega continues his unbeaten run in the 2026 WorldSBK season with victory in the Superpole Race at Aragon.
Despite a difficult start to the race, Bulega was able to fight back and secure a hard-fought victory on Sunday morning.
The Italian was punished in the early laps, but held his own and made his way back to the front and extended his winning streak.
Joining Bulega on the podium was his teammate, Iker Lecuona, in second place, and Sam Lowes in third, completing a Ducati 1-2-3.
At the start of the Superpole Race on Sunday morning, it was Bulega who grabbed the holeshot and led the field into Turn 1.
But the Italian ran it wide on the entry to Turn 2 and was immediately passed by Lecuona and Alberto Surra.
After the opening lap, the podium places were Lecuona, Alberto Surra and Bulega, with Sam Lowes in fourth place on the back of the trio.
The first crash of the race came on Lap 2 when Tarran Mackenzie and Andrea Locatelli collided at Turn 7.
Bulega’s poor start continued as by the end of Lap 2, the Italian found himself back in fourth place after Sam Lowes passed him.
The British rider continued his charge as he made his way into second place after overtaking Surra at the start of Lap 3.
On Lap 4, Sam Lowes began battling for the lead of the race as the British rider was in a close fight with Lecuona for first place.
Sam Lowes took the lead on Lap 5, as the Marc VDS rider disposed of Lecuona, and had the Spaniard and Bulega behind him.
The fight at the front continued as Bulega took the lead on Lap 6, but the Italian dropped back into second as Lecuona regained the lead.
On Lap 9, Lorenzo Baldassarri crashed out of the race in fourth place, taking the pressure off of Sam Lowes in third.
The final lap of the race saw Bulega and Lecuona continue to fight, but the Italian was able to hold his own.
For the 17th time in 2026, Bulega secured victory as he fought back from a difficult start to take his 21st consecutive victory in the class.
Lecuona was back in second place once again for the 14th race in a row, as he continues to hunt for his first win in the class.
Sam Lowes secured his second podium of the weekend, as he finished in third after fighting for the race win.
The top five was completed by Surra in fourth place, and Alex Lowes in fifth on the Bimota.
Axel Bassani missed out on a spot in the top five but finished in sixth place, with Tommy Bridewell continuing his impressive weekend in seventh.
The Barni Ducati riders of Alvaro Bautista and Yari Montella completed the point scoring positions in eighth and ninth.
Xavi Vierge ended up as the top Yamaha rider in tenth, with Michael van der Mark as the top BMW in 11th.
Garrett Gerloff crossed the line in 12th, with the GYTR GRT Yamaha riders of Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi in 13th and 14th.
Hannes Soomer was inside the top 15 as he finished in 15th on the BMW, with Bahattin Sofuoglu and Mattia Rato in 16th and 17th.
The top Honda of Somkiat Chantra was the final finisher on Sunday morning as he crossed the line in 18th.
