Jenzer Motorsport has confirmed its first driver for the 2016 GP3 season, with Akash Nandy joining the Swiss outfit.
The team will be hoping to build on a more encouraging 2015, where it finished sixth in the teams’ championship with 55 points.
Malaysian driver Nandy already has a win under his belt this year after his car won its Asian Le Mans Series class at the 3 Hours of Malaysia.
In 2013 he placed third in the Formula Masters China series, finished 13th overall in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps championship in 2014 and last year he was runner-up in the Formula Remus F3 championship.
Now he will make the step up to GP3 with Jenzer Motorsport as the team’s first confirmed driver for the up-coming 2016 season.
"With Akash the team has a strong driver and we are convinced that we can achieve top level results with him," said founder and team principal Andreas Jenzer.
"We are very motivated and will do our best to make this a successful season."
