Formula 1 2014 Betting: Who’s a hot bet?

The Formula 1 season is the biggest event of the year for people keen on motor racing and betting, with a lot of bets being placed at bookmakers over both the individual races and the overall drivers’ championship. Outright bets on the latter are particularly popular and – although some will have made their choices and placed their bets months ago – there is still lots of time left for those who have not done so yet. Of course, you can play at http://www.jackpotcity.co.uk in the meantime.

So who do the bookies rate as hot favourites for the 2014 Formula 1 season?

Despite his failure to score in the opening race of the season, Lewis Hamilton is favourite for the title at odd of 2/1, whilst his team-mate and winner in Melbourne is second at 5/2. It’s understandable given the pace of the Mercedes.

However it might not be as safe a bet as some are making out. The Red Bulls are catching quickly. Although they failed to score thanks to an ERS failure for champion Sebastian Vettel and a disqualification for Daniel Ricciardo – his second place prior to the steward’s ruling proved the RB10 might just have the pace to match Mercedes in a few races time.

A better bet with bigger returns, although slightly riskier, is that of a McLaren or Williams driver. Both outfits delivered excellent pace in Australia and could soon be standing atop the podium.

Kevin Magnussen at 16/1 and Jenson Button at 18/1 would offer great returns. Meanwhile Felipe Massa at 33/1 and Valtteri Bottas at 40/1 are mouth-watering deals which will surely drop in value as the season goes on.

But what about odds for the Malaysian Grand Prix?

The two Mercedes drivers are hot favourites yet again at 13/8 and 15/8 – bets almost not worth placing if you want to make some money.

Instead, look past Mercedes and you could be rewarded heavily. Massa, Vettel and Bottas come in at 14/1, whilst the McLaren duo stand at 16/1 and Ricciardo and Fernando Alonso at 18/1. Odds like that can’t be ignored.

However, if Mercedes’ form is really as good as some pundits believe, then 2014 might be a rather predictable outcome, so it might just be safer to play the racing themed slots, such as Five Reel Drive.

These slots games are generally just as easy to bet on as the winner, but they are also a lot more exciting and offer the potential for greater winnings. For example the freeway racing-themed 5 Reel Drive has a top coin jackpot worth 10,000 and – with both wild and scatter icons on the reels – you are not dependent on winning the jackpot for a payout. The scatter icon (the cop) will trigger an automatic cash win if at least three pop up on any reel, while the wild (the yellow road signs) will take the place of other missing icons to produce a winner. When you add the convenience offered by downloading Five Reel Drive to your phone from a mobile casino, you have everything to win and nothing to lose.
