Michael Schumacher’s doctors are still reducing his sedation in order to bring him out of his induced coma, the German’s manager, Sabine Kehm, has confirmed.
Several media reports in the foreign press have suggested his doctors have abandoned the ‘waking-up process’ due to complications. However Kehm confirmed this wasn’t the case and says the situation remains “unchanged”.
She added that due to the length of time it’s taking, it has led to the media speculating on the 45-year-old’s health.
“This phase can take a long time which, much to our regret, can lead to many misinterpretations.”
Felipe Massa spent some time with the seven-time champion and even suggested Schumacher attempted to respond to some of his questions.
“He looks normal and he also gave some reactions with the mouth and everything,” said the Williams driver. “So it’s positive to look at him.
“But I have no experience to say anything. I’m not a doctor. But when I saw him, for me, it looked very positive.”
