Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo has landed a seat with Red Bull to take part in the upcoming tyre test this week at Silverstone.
The Australian is one of the favourites to replace Mark Webber who announced he would retire at the end of the season, therefore creating an opening at the world championship winning outfit.
The confirmation that Ricciardo will get to drive the RB9, instead of Jean-Eric Vergne, comes across as a clear sign that the Austrian team believes he is a more suitable candidate for the seat in 2014.
Ricciardo will test on day one in the afternoon after Antonio Felix da Costa who is favourite to replace Ricciardo at Toro Rosso should he be promoted.
Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel and junior driver Carlos Sainz will also get half a day each to test.
