Jules Bianchi and James Rossiter will get behind the wheel of the new Force India VJM06 at the first pre-season test in Jerez.
Whilst the Vijay Mallya owned outfit is yet to announce a second driver alongside Paul di Resta, it’s believed they may use the test to evaluate the pair, particularly Bianchi who is a likely candidate for the race seat.
A statement from the team explained that Bianchi’s involvement is based on his knowledge of the VJM05, which he drove throughout last season as the team’s test driver.
“Having spent 2012 as the team’s third driver, Jules will be able to provide the team’s engineers with further comparison feedback between last year’s car and the VJM06,” it read.
Rossiter has no experience with Force India, but has previously tested for BAR/Honda and Super Aguri.
He will drive the car on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, whilst Bianchi would get the final day to himself.
