Red Bull design guru Adrian Newey has admitted the team’s 2013 challenger, the RB9, will launch slightly later than planned suggesting it may miss the first test.
However the 53-year-old isn’t too concerned given the car is an evolution of the championship winning RB8, which has proven itself as a winning design already.
“We will be ready later than we would like,” the British designer told El Mundo Deportivo.
“We had to focus until the last moment on development of the RB8 in order to retain the two titles.
“But it’s not a serious problem, because the RB9 is an evolution of the current car.”
