Formula 1’s latest winner, Pastor Maldonado, declared himself satisfied after he finished in the top five in both practice sessions on Friday.
The Williams driver won last time out in Spain and believes the FW34 is well suited to the tight and twisty streets of Monaco.
“The car is feeling really good this year and looks competitive in the running we have done today, so we’re happy with that,” Maldonado said.
However running was curbed for all during second practice after a rain shower hit the track, but that has dampened Maldonado’s expectations.
“It’s a shame we didn’t get to run as much during the afternoon, as we would have liked to have gathered a bit more data on the tyres but we still have P3 on Saturday. I love this circuit and think it’s going to be a competitive grand prix.”
