Jenson Button easily beat Fernando Alonso’s FP1 topping time of 1:16.265 to go fastest during second practice for the Monaco GP.

Button hustled his McLaren around the marina side circuit to post a 1:15.746, almost four tenths quicker than Romain Grosjean who finished second quickest ahead of Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso.

Pastor Maldonado continued his good form with fifth quickest ahead of Nico Rosberg and Mark Webber.

The quickest times came in the earlier hour of the session before rain hit the track and saw the intermediate tyres come out.
