The 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix looks set to be a sell-out with over 70% of tickets having already been sold, despite three months until the event actually takes place.
Richard Cregan, chief executive of the Yas Marina Circuit, expressed pleasure in the speed in which tickets have been moving and urged fans to book now to avoid disappointment.
“We are pleased with the ticket sales and this promises to be a great event,” Cregan told the local media. “Preparations for our race in Abu Dhabi are in the final stages. We are confident about the fact that our clients attend one of the most exciting sports and entertainment events in the world.
“Rather than just a race, we are proud to provide something that looks more like a weekend carnival. Only 30% of tickets remain for sale, the choice is increasingly rare. We therefore encourage anyone interested to book a ticket, to do so now to avoid disappointment.”
The track has a relatively small capacity of just 50,000, compared to most European track which can hold upwards of 100,000.
