Rubens Barrichello has hinted that he will retire at the end of the 2013 season, declaring he’s unlikely to experience the new for 2014 engine regulations.
The 39-year-old has competed in over 314 races, a record in F1, but he’s keen to continue with Williams for another two years, which would take him to the end of 2013.
“I told Williams that if they offered me a two-year contract [then] I would sign right now,” he wrote on Twitter.
Though he’s unlikely to seek a new drive after then.
“The new engines will arrive three years from now. I won’t be in Formula 1 then,” he told Globo Esporte. “Instead, I will be in Disneyland eating hamburgers and riding the rollercoasters.
“I can not live without speed, either karting, playing in the simulator or on the internet, surely something. I’ll start jumping with a parachute and do other crazy things looking for an adrenaline rush,” joked the Brazilian.
