Renault and Virgin will give Russian fans a taste of Formula 1 when both will take to a temporary circuit in the city of Sochi next month.
The Black Sea resort will host Russia’s first F1 race in 2014.
The demonstration has been organised by the Krasnodar region’s motorsport federation with the support of Alexander Tkachev, the governor of the Krasnodar region and Dmitry Kozak, Russia’s Prime Minister.
The two teams have a special connection with Russia. Virgin experienced major investment from Russian supercar manufacturer Marussia, whilst Renault have fielded the first Russian F1 driver, in the form of Vitaly Petrov.
The event will take place on July 17th, between the British and German grands prix.
