Fernando Alonso set the pace in a wet session around the Istanbul park circuit in Turkey, finishing over a second ahead of the two Mercedes cars.
Sebastian Vettel had a poor outing, ending up in the barries at turn eight, bringing out the red flag with 15 minutes remaining.
Both McLaren drivers failed to complete much running, opting to stay in the garage for much of the session.
