The FIA has confirmed the detection and activation zone for the drag-reduction system (DRS) at the Shanghai circuit during the race.

The detection zone will be between turns 11 and 13, giving drivers a chance to get as close as possible as they exit turn 13 on the long back straight.

Drivers within a second will be able to activate the system once they have exited turn 13, with the ability to use it until the braking zone at turn 14, a distance of 920m, which is a tight hairpin bend.
